Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal information Lung Secret (lungsecret.com) collects, how we use it and the choices you have. We have written it for readers in the US first, under US state privacy laws such as the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CCPA/CPRA), and for readers in the UK and EU under the UK GDPR and EU GDPR.

Who we are

Lung Secret is operated by Gadget Armor Ltd, Budoch Court, Ilford, Essex, UK. For privacy questions, email [email protected].

What we collect

Information you give us

  • Contact form: your name, email address and message.
  • Email newsletter (if you sign up once it launches): your email address.

Information collected automatically

  • Server and security logs: when you visit, our hosting provider Spaceship and Cloudflare (which protects and speeds up the site) process technical data such as your IP address, browser type, device type, pages requested and the date and time.
  • Cookies: we set a cookie to remember your cookie choices. See “Cookies” below.
  • Analytics: we don’t use analytics tools at the moment. If we add them, we will update this policy and ask for consent where the law requires it.

What our tools do not collect

Our quiz, calculators and breathing exerciser run entirely in your browser. What you type or select is not sent to us or stored, and it disappears when you leave the page.

How we use your information

  • To reply to messages and correction reports
  • To send the newsletter, if you sign up, until you unsubscribe
  • To keep the site secure, prevent abuse and fix problems
  • To comply with legal obligations

We don’t use your information to make automated decisions about you.

Cookies and affiliate links

We use a consent tool (Complianz) to manage cookies. Its cookie stores your choices. When you click an affiliate link and land on a seller’s site, that seller or its affiliate network (such as Amazon, BuyGoods, ClickBank or MaxWeb) may set its own cookies to record that you came from Lung Secret. Those cookies are controlled by the seller or network, under their own privacy policies. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings.

Who we share information with

We share personal information only with service providers that help us run the site, such as our hosting provider, Cloudflare and, if we launch a newsletter, an email service provider identified here before signup opens. They may only use it to provide their services to us. We may also disclose information if the law requires it.

Your rights if you live in the US

Depending on your state, you may have the right to:

  • Know what personal information we collect and how we use and share it
  • Access, correct or delete your personal information
  • Opt out of the “sale” of personal information or its “sharing” for cross-context behavioral advertising
  • Not be treated differently for using these rights

We do not sell personal information for money. Some state laws treat certain affiliate and advertising cookies as “sharing”. You can opt out on our opt-out preferences page, and we treat a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal from your browser as an opt-out request. To use any other right, email us. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request, and you can use an authorized agent.

Your rights if you live in the UK or EU

We rely on these legal bases: your consent (newsletter and non-essential cookies), our legitimate interests (replying to messages and keeping the site secure), and legal obligations. You have the right to access, correct, delete or restrict your data, to object to processing, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time. You can complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk) or your local data protection authority.

International transfers

We are based in the UK, and our service providers may process data in the US or other countries. Where needed, we rely on safeguards recognized under UK and EU law, such as standard contractual clauses.

How long we keep information

  • Contact messages: kept while we handle your enquiry and necessary follow-up. After closure, we review whether the message is needed for an outstanding complaint, dispute or legal obligation. Messages should be deleted when none of these purposes remains. This requires periodic review; automatic deletion is not configured.
  • Newsletter: until you unsubscribe
  • Server logs: kept by our hosting provider and Cloudflare under their own retention periods

Children

This site is for adults. We don’t knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you think a child has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.

Security

We use HTTPS, keep software up to date and limit access to personal information. No website is completely secure, so please don’t send sensitive health details through the contact form.

Changes to this policy

We will update this page when our practices change and change the “Last updated” date at the top.
